Too many questions… Too little time.

[Starts writing] This is my first blog entry. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out what it'll be yet. But trust me, it'll be awesome.

*Dances around the house in excitement*

*GETS A BRILLIANT IDEA!* Okay... Okay.... I got this.

So... *Deep Breath* If you've been following me on Instagram for longer than a really long time, you may recall when I reached a following of 10,000 followers, I promised to answer some questions since I've been a mystery for far too long. What questions?  Don't remember? I don't blame you! It was way too long ago, and I've taken forever to get down to answering them *cough* I'm totally not going to lie, I've been lazy!

But to refresh your memory, here is a small selection of the questions that were asked:

There were a lot more interesting questions that I would love to answer, and so I'll do a part two to this blog series in the near future.

Answer to @_azmyra:

If my life was a book, I would have named it "Ishaqzaadeh," which would definitely have been so much better than the original Bollywood version. In terms of the name, the ending zaade refers to being the "son of" a particular bloodline in Persian influenced languages. For example, shahzaade meaning "son of a king," and sherzaadeh meaning "son of a lion." The first part of the name Ishaq is a vulgar/slang pronunciation of Ishq (meaning "passionate love"). The title may be loosely translated as "Rebellious Lovers" or literally "Children of Love".

How would my story end? It would end with the happiest ending in the world. *blushes* King Arslan would get his Queen, and they would live happily ever after with lots of giggles, and pillow fights, and of course never a dull moment. The climax of the story would be like most eternal love stories, fighting against fate. I'd want my story to give people hope in happy endings. *sigh*

My worst nickname? *recalls memories and laughs out loud* Well... I am fairly light skinned, and when it gets cold... I literally become a tomato (and also when I blush.) In high school I would blush when I talked to girls, and thus one of them decided to call me "Mr Blushy Blushy!" One of my teachers ended up hearing her call me that, and he started to call me that as well. It wasn't the worst nickname, but definitely one that I remember.

Five most important things in life: Religion, Family, Love, Respect, Setting Goals.

One talent that I wish I had was more creativity. They say you can learn anything in the world if you put your mind to it, but I do believe some people are naturally gifted, and the true essence of art can not be taught. You either have it or you don't. I wish I had more of it.

What excites me most is anything that requires taking a leadership initiative. Building things, projects, making speeches - I guess it comes with being a Leo *Omg he believes in horoscopes?*

If I sneezed on anyone, they'd be blessed. *aah... ahh... achoo!*

Answer to @damsel_gem:

My inspiration is life. I always take the chance to repeat myself, and I'll gladly say it again... "Writing can not be forced." Sure, you can try. But it won't be the same as when it is truly driven by life kicking you in the bu*t. That is one of the reasons I have always avoided collaborations, unless I was obligated to be nice. I feel collaborations are two people forcing to synchronize their 'awesomeness' together. It just doesn't work. Every writer is unique, and to try and force it to fit with another is something I genuinely do not believe in doing.

I reflect on life and day to day experiences and that is how I write something everyday.

I think every writer, regardless of their following size on social media is genuine. I would advise everyone to just be themselves instead of imagining themselves to be a 'famous' writer.

Writers block can sometimes be a blessing. *pretends to be wise* Sometimes you end up feeling so much of one thing that eventually everything you write ends up being the same. Writers block gives you a little break. A chance to think clearly, and perhaps to clear your mind. The best thing to do is take notes on how you feel, and keep thinking of different way of expressing. Even when you're not feeling anything, that in itself is a feeling! Think deeply, and describe it. *adjusts nerdy glasses* Come up with a list of keywords of the effect that certain feeling has on you, such as: "Numb... empty.... lost.... confused." Now think of how else you can describe those feelings? Think outside of the box, and the words will eventually come to you.

Answer to @amalkazz:

*blush* Let's just talk in circles and avoid the question... so yeah like... *rambles aimlessly for 5 minutes* You know what I mean? Right? Awesome!

Answer to @hersilververse:

I think pushing yourself to success should be something everyone should get a grasp of. It is important to know what your goals are and to chase them, because no one else will chase them for you. We are all unequal in resources, but it is the limitations that we place on ourselves  mentally are what hold us back. Fake it till you make it, look like a million dollars, dress for success, do whatever it takes to remind you where you're headed, and have good expectations from your Lord. Allah says, "I am as my servant excepts me to be." [Sahîh al-Bukhârî (6856) and Sahîh Muslim (4832)] Your mind plays a big role in where you end up, so its important to never let go of positivity. Optimism and unfaltering faith go a long way.

Answer to @wajeeha95:

I study Law. *adjusts nerdy glasses again* I've done my undergraduate in a multi-disciplinary Honors program in political science, policing, international human rights, criminology, legal philosophy, and linguistics. I am a LL.B candidate.

Answer to @x.h.0711:

My inspiration does have a beautiful name, *cluelessly looks around* but lets keep her a secret shall we? *evil grin* Lets just say my biggest muse has been life herself, and my affinity for words has helped me describe her on paper.

Answer to @angelxovo:

Well... I had a feeling someone would ask that! *tries to keep a serious face* Fortunately, *adjusts nerdy glasses again* Your question is missing a question mark, so I'm confused... Is that even a question!? God bless technicalities... *chuckles like a evil genius*

That imaginary face got nerdy glasses too. Thats great… Ameen to your dua’s. May Allah bless you immensely with all that you deserve… Ameen

    1. Jazak’Allah Khair for your kind words! I think somethings are better left a secret, and a private life is always a happier life. So Alhamdulillah for the secrets we all have, and may Allah keep all of us among His happiest of slaves. Ameen to your Du’as, *smiles gratefully* You’ve always been so kind! 🙂 and yes! I do indeed have nerdy glasses.

  9. Oh Arslan you bring sunshine to the bluest of days…amazing work! Masha ‘Allah, may you always be rewarded and blessed.

    1. My Dearest Sister! Thank you, I’m so glad you got a chance to read my first blog post. Jazak’Allah khair for your appreciation 😀

  10. Ya Allah, you know what!! I just commented on Insta that I will be happy today so guess what was the first thing I did to be happy? Yepp, I just googled to read Arslanwrites’ first blog!! 🙌🙌 Although I really wanted to read it yesterday 😐 but was way too much tired so nai padha tha 🙈 Vaise it’s actually good that I didn’t read it yesterday, varna aaj ka din itna amazing shuru kaise hota 🙌 Jazak Allahu khairan for making my day start with a happy face 🙌

Acha now enough of morning rants!! 🙊 Let’s focus on your first blog!!! First of all, Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy 🙌 *Couldn’t stop myself from doing that* 😄 Now, let’s begin.. So, when I read the title, I was excited but I didn’t even expect a bit that this blog will be your mystery revealing one 😄 So, when I read that part, aur bhi jyada excited aur happy ho gayi 😄 Questions were amazing, but your answers to certain questions were really hilarious!! Especially your *special comments* made me imagine you literally really doing that and that was real fun 😁 You should do that more often in your posts and your future blogs too 🙌

Now, Few lines that I loved way too much 👉
    1. “I’d want my story to give people hope in happy endings” — Haaye made up my entire day. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala fulfill all of your du’as and may you get married to the one you love and then live happily forever ❤ Aameen 🙌

2.”Five most important things in life: Religion, Family, Love, Respect, Setting Goals.” — You are truly a very beautiful person inside out!! Whenever I read such lines from you, my heart immediately makes du’a for you. Your future wife will be truly really blessed to have you in her life!! In Sha Allah you will be a great father too 🙌

    3. Your entire answer on writer’s block made me look at that situation in an entirely new perspective!! Jazak Allahu khairan ☺

    4. You are so much creative tabhi toh you could answer those relationship and marriage ka questions itne hilarious way main 😝

Overall, I know, I wrote a very bigggg comment but I guess I was way too much excited isiliye 😄 Jazaki Allahu khairan so much for making my day!! May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala keep you happy always and bless you and your family with success, love and good health. Aameen 😇

    1. Woahhhh Dill Dill! Thats so awesome! Haha usually when I read peoples blogs, I’m the one that leaves the longest comments because I have so much to say, and Alhamdulillah I’m glad you took the time and not only read but spent your time in commenting, as you always do! Jazak’Allah Khair! Your morning rant was fun, and by the way there were so many more cool questions, especially the ones from Azmyra which I still want to answer! Soon Insha’Allah.

I really pray that Allah fulfills all my Du’as and I have the greatest expectations from Him… I really do hope to give people umeed in having faith and continually believing in His benevolence. How beautiful would it be to be a means of hope?

My future wife better be happy, or else… *Dramatic Pose* Insha’Allah she will be. That part of your comment means a lot, thank you for that Du’a.

Writers block is definitely something people struggle with, and I’ve struggled with it myself, but Alhamdulillah through that reasoning that I shared, it was only made to last a few days.

Jazak’Allah Khair again for your excitement and all the Du’a.. its surely means a lot. May Allah always bless you and keep you forever happy. Ameen.

  14. Assalaam o Alaikum brother! Jazak’Allah khair for your continuous posts, thoughts, inspiration and motivation. Your writings are literally a breath of hope and yakeen in Allah’s benevolence. You always speak my mind to the T and especially your recent posts are exactly what I think. About having Tawwakul that Allah will listen to your dua if you really keep persisting in it, that He will make even the impossible, possible. That he will fulfill the dua in the most best and beautiful way. What helps me most is that you are writing out of experience, and not just inspiration. Seeing you like this motivates me so much. The day you were to give up in your battle, I would start to lose hope. You are the shining and guiding light for many my brother. I can’t thank you enough. Congratulations on the new blog!

    1. Walaikum Assalam Zohaib, I am glad my blog and my writing in general could means something special to you. Tawwakul is definitely the key to success and survival, and it is something we must all strive towards mastering. Of course there are days where it falters, but we must always try and have that extra leap of faith and take the plunge when required. I’m glad to see that I am in some way able to ensure that you do not lose hope. Jazak’Allah Khair for sharing that valuable feedback, it has definitely made me happy to read that. 17. Sheikh Uthmayeen may Allah have mercy upon him said:

“People must not give into pessimism because it will make their lives miserable. Rather, it is obligatory to follow the example of the Prophet (SAW) and he loved optimism. Therefore it is a must to be optimistic about good and avoid being pessimistic. Some people, when they attempt something time and time again they become pessimistic, believing they will never succeed in that matter, so they abandon it. This is a mistake. If you find something that is beneficial for you; don’t lose interest in it after the first attempt; rather keep trying until Allah opens up a way for you.”
